JOB DESCRIPTION
- Confirms scheduled date and time of surgery with the patient or designated caregiver
- Admits patient to the perioperative area, assess patient and prepares the patient for surgery/planned procedure
- Receives and monitors the patient’s condition post procedure per PACU, SDS and SDEX orders
- Works collaboratively with surgeons and anesthesia team to assure safe, timely emergence for anesthesia
- Effectively communicates discharge instructions with patients and families for their post- operative care after discharge
- Other duties as assigned
Work schedule:
This is a Per Diem position with opportunity to pick up a variety of day, day/evening, and evening shifts. Per diem RN's must pick up 24 hours of open shifts every four weeks and are expected to work one holiday a year.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing
- Two (2) years of nursing experience in an acute hospital setting
- Licensed as a Registered Nurse with the State of Minnesota
BLS - ACLS and PALS required within 6 months of hire
- ICU experience STRONGLY preferred
