Overview:
We are currently seeking a skilled and dynamic Nurse to join our surgical suite team. The successful candidate will have experience in preparing surgical patients in preoperative settings, assisting in the recovery of surgical patients postoperatively, and demonstrating the ability to circulate in the operating room. The ability to scrub in the OR is considered a bonus. This role offers the opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment and make a significant impact on patient care.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare surgical patients in preoperative settings, ensuring all necessary assessments, documentation, and preoperative procedures are completed.
- Assist in the recovery of surgical patients postoperatively, monitoring vital signs, managing pain, and providing emotional support as needed.
- Circulate in the operating room, assisting the surgical team with equipment, instrumentation, and supplies.
- Scrub in the OR as needed, demonstrating proficiency in sterile technique and surgical instrumentation.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to ensure optimal patient outcomes and safety.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and documentation.
- Adhere to established policies, procedures, and protocols for patient care and safety.
- Participate in ongoing education and training to enhance skills and knowledge in surgical nursing practices.
Qualifications:
- Valid RN license in NC, with preference given to candidates with a North Carolina nursing license.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience as an RN in the operating room (OR), Pre/Post (PACU), emergency room (ER), or intensive care unit (ICU).
- Experience in the operative/procedural care settings required.
- Previous experience circulating in the operating room preferred.
- Ability to scrub in the OR considered a bonus.
- BLS and ACLS certification required.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekdays and occasional call requirements.
- Commitment to delivering high-quality patient care and ensuring patient safety.
Work Schedule:
- Surgical Suite Hours are Monday-Friday, 6:30 am - 5:00 pm.
- Applicant must be available from 6:30 am to 7:00 pm with some call requirements.
Pay:
- Hourly Range is $24-$32 depending on experience.
- Position is bonus eligible after 6 months of employment.
