About the Facility:
This Facility currently offers a full range of primary care services along with 22 subspecialties, dental care, acupuncture and aerospace medicine. It is part of the National Capital Region enhanced Multi Service Market (eMSM) along with nine other medical treatment facilities, including Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, Fort Belvoir Community Hospital and Kimbrough Ambulatory Care Clinic, providing care to over 500,000 beneficiaries. In addition to providing direct patient care, it is affiliated with the Uniformed Services University of Health Sciences and serves as a training facility for 48 medical residents and 31 health professionals. MGMCSC also provides medical support to Presidential and Congressional special Airlift Missions and maintains a 45 bed Aeromedical Staging Facility. MGMCSC is undergoing a four-year military construction project to expand and upgrade the facility with state-of-the-art outpatient clinical care services and same day surgery. Services will not be impacted during construction.
- The contractor RNs shall maintain current knowledge of, and conducts all duties in accordance with the Nursing Procedure Manual, Command Instructions, DoD Directives, Joint Commission and other regulatory requirements.
- The contractor RNs shall provide care within ethical and legal boundaries.
- The contractor RNs shall ensure compliance with standard of care and practice in accordance with all established policies, procedures, and guidelines used in the medical treatment MTF and IAW JC guidelines.
- The contractor RNs shall plan appropriate nursing care set forth by the MTF, and
- IAW JC guidelines.
- The contractor RNs shall have the ability to react to any emergency situation, e.g., cardiac or respiratory arrest, hemorrhage, shock, severe physical trauma, psychiatric reaction, etc.
- The contractor RNs shall demonstrate the ability to recognize adverse signs and symptoms and reacts quickly and appropriately in emergency situations.
- The contractor RNs shall serve as member of resuscitation team.
- The contractor RNs shall demonstrate proper preparation of patient's for treatments and procedures, to include surgical interventions.
- The contractor RNs shall render professional intensive nursing care to critically ill pediatric patients with medical and/or surgical conditions within the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU).
- The contractor RNs shall provide proper care and evaluation of post-procedural patients.
- The contractor RNs shall be required to float to the Inpatient Pediatric Ward during times of low census and according to staffing needs.
- Report to Nurse Manager
- BLS, ACLS, PALS required
- 1 year of experience in PICU required
- U.S. citizen
