Job Description:
The Registered Nurse (RN) is a professional caregiver who assumes responsibility and accountability for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating care of patients. The staff RN utilizes the nursing process by use of technology, therapeutic intervention, evidence-based practice and coordination of care with other health team members.

Primary Children's Hospital is opening a second campus in Lehi with a planned opening in February of 2023. Our beautiful Level 2 trauma center has 19 Emergency Department bays with 2 state of the art trauma bays.
Primary Children's Miller Family campus in Lehi will open with 66 inpatient beds including a NICU, PICU, Med Surg and Behavioral Health. We will have 5 operating rooms, imaging, lab and all the expected support and ancillary services.

The length of your training will be dependent on your current skill set and start dates will be adjusted accordingly. Preparatory training will occur at our campus in Salt Lake City
Hours: Full Time - 36 hours/week
Minimum Qualifications
  • Current RN License that allows you to practice in the state of Utah.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)

(Applicants must either have required additional certifications (e.g. ACLS, PALs, NRP) upon hire or must obtain them within a specified timeframe determined by service line and department guidelines.)
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.

**RNs with less than 12 months of working experience as an RN prior to joining Intermountain must obtain their BSN within five years of their start date.**
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN). Education must be obtained from an accredited institution. Degree will be verified.
  • Pediatric RN experience.
  • Emergency Department RN experience.

Physical Requirements:
Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies.
- and -
Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately, particularly during emergency situations.
- and -
Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer use and typing for documenting patient care, accessing needed information, medication preparation, etc.
- and -
Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients. Will also bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment. Typically includes items of varying weights, up to and including heavy items.
- and -
Need to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment. This includes pushing/pulling gurneys and portable equipment, including heavy items. Often required to navigate crowded and busy rooms (full of equipment, power cords on the floor, etc).

May be expected to stand in a stationary position for an extended period of time.

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.
