This Registered Nurse position will be working in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) at Cassia Regional Hospital - located in Burley, Idaho.

Cassia Regional Hospital Surgical Services is a Critical Access Hospital OR. Cassia has a 10 bed Same Day Surgery Department, 3 Bay PACU department, and has 4 OR Suites.

We do an average of 6-10 cases/day with an average of 150-200 cases/month. Our department consists of 20 employees with 8 &10 hour shifts. Department hours are 0600-1700 Mon-Friday. All staff are cross trained to work in Same Day Surgery/PACU or OR/PACU.

There are after hour on call requirements for all staff. After hour call hours consists of 1 weeknight call and 1 weekend call every 5 weeks. As our department is small and we work closely together we have a culture of, "we take care of each other". Staff work well together to trade shifts and after hours call to provide work life balance.

Cassia Surgical Services has an open-door policy between staff and management and work to develop department workflows with staff input. Our surgeons are friendly and easy to work with. They are also involved in the running of the department and are engaged in its success.

Shift Details: Part time, 30 hours/week. Day shift. After hours call 1 night/week and 1 weekend shift every 5 weeks.

Minimum Qualifications

+ Current RN License in the state of Idaho.

+ Basic Life Support (BLS)

+ Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)

+ Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)

(Applicants must either have required additional certifications (e.g. ACLS, PALs, NRP) upon hire or must obtain them within a specified timeframe determined by service line and department guidelines.)

+ Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.

+ Basic computer skills.

RNs with less than 12 months of working experience as an RN prior to joining Intermountain must obtain their BSN within five years of their start date.

Preferred Qualifications

+ Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN). Education must be obtained from an accredited institution. Degree will be verified.

+ Surgical RN experience.

Physical Requirements:

Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies.

- and -

Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately, particularly during emergency situations.

- and -

Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer use and typing for documenting patient care, accessing needed information, medication preparation, etc.

- and -

Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients. Will also bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment. Typically includes items of varying weights, up to and including heavy items.

- and -

Need to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment. This includes pushing/pulling gurneys and portable equipment, including heavy items. Often required to navigate crowded and busy rooms (full of equipment, power cords on the floor, etc).

May be expected to stand in a stationary position for an extended period of time.
