UW Medical Center - Northwest has an outstanding opportunity for a PART TIMEREGISTERED NURSE to join our Outpatient IV Infusion Unit.
WORK SCHEDULE
  • 24 hours per week (60% FTE)
  • 8 hours per shift
  • Day shifts only
  • The exact start times/days worked may vary each week
    DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION:
    Outpatient IV Infusion is located on the first floor of the main hospital at UW Medical Center-Northwest. We offer specialized procedure recovery services and infusion therapy for a broad spectrum of patients, including those with chronic inflammatory conditions and immune-mediated conditions. This is a great opportunity to join a dedicated team that always put their patients first.
    PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Screen patients for administration of medications via IV infusion
  • Ensure patients who are presenting are able to tolerate their infusions
  • Place IVs, and initiate, assess and observe patients during infusions
  • Disconnect IVs and monitor patients post infusion
  • Document all above activities in the Electronic Medical Record
  • Provide education for patients and their families
    REQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
  • 2 years of current or recent infusion nursing experience
  • BLS
  • Strong IV skills
  • An active Registered Nurse license in the State of Washington
  • Familiarity with blood products and IV medications, including Remicade, Venofer, IVIG, and IV antibiotics
