Registered Nurse Ortho/Oncology

Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital located in sunny Valencia, California,is looking for RNs to join our team! We are a 357-bed, not-for-profit community hospital and trauma center. We are seeking experienced RNs to join our Med/Surg Orthopedic/Oncology unit! Come join our amazing team and watch yourself flourish independently and professionally!

Job Requirements

· Current California RN licensure

· Current BLS and ACLS Certifications on all telemetry capable units. Telemetry course required, Orthopedic course (Joint & Spine) required, Chemo Provider/Chemo Certification preferred.

· ASN required, BSN strongly preferred.

· Minimum 1-year acute hospital experience required, telemetry experience preferred

· Covid19 Vaccination is required.

Job and Unit Details

· 3X12 Night Shift, 7pm to 7:30am – NO On-Call Requirements!

· Every other weekend and rotating holidays are required.

· 30 Bed Unit with a 1:4 RN to Patient Ratio

Job Responsibilities

· The Registered Nurse is responsible for independently utilizing the nursing process to safely, therapeutically, and efficiently care for a group of patients based on HMNH’s policies and all regulatory requirements.

· Delivers individualized quality patient care through a coordinated team approach with physicians, staff, and other departments along with patient’s family and/or significant others.

· Utilizes appropriate pain management techniques. Educates the patient, family and/or significant others regarding pain management.

· Administers medications and treatments according to HMNH’s policies, procedures, and accepted standards of care.

· Effectively engages patients, families and/or significant others regarding the plan of care, short- and long-term goals, progression toward goal achievement, including discharge planning.
