Job Title: Registered Nurse (Operating Room)
Job Summary:
The Registered Nurse (Operating Room) plays a crucial role in providing care to patients during surgical procedures. They are responsible for assisting the surgical team, monitoring the patient's vital signs, and ensuring a safe and sterile environment in the operating room.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Assist surgeons and other team members during surgical procedures
2. Monitor patient's vital signs and adjust care as needed
3. Maintain a sterile environment in the operating room
4. Administer medications and anesthesia as ordered
5. Communicate with patients and their families about the surgical process and post-operative care
6. Document all aspects of patient care accurately
7. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care to patients
8. Participate in continuing education and training to stay updated on best practices in operating room nursing
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Valid RN license in the state of practice
2. BSN degree preferred
3. CPR and ACLS certification
4. Strong communication and interpersonal skills
5. Attention to detail and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
6. Ability to stay calm under pressure
7. Prior experience in an operating room setting is a plus
