Job Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate and highly skilled Registered Nurse with expertise in Obstetric and Gynecologic care to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide specialized nursing care to women throughout their reproductive life stages, including prenatal, labor and delivery, postpartum, and Gynecologic care. This role requires a deep understanding of women's health issues, excellent clinical skills, and the ability to provide patient-centered care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Patient Assessment and Monitoring:
- Conduct thorough assessments of Obstetric and Gynecologic patients, including vital signs, medical history, and physical examinations.
- Monitor fetal and maternal well-being during labor and delivery.
- Assess and manage gynecologic conditions and complications.
- Labor and Delivery Care:
- Assist with labor and delivery procedures, including support during childbirth.
- Administer medications and pain relief interventions as needed.
- Monitor and support patients during the postpartum period.
- Gynecologic Care:
- Perform gynecological exams, screenings, and assessments.
- Educate patients on reproductive health, contraception, and family planning options.
- Assist with gynecologic procedures, such as pap smears and colposcopies.
- Patient Education and Counseling:
- Provide patients and their families with comprehensive education on pregnancy, childbirth, and women's health issues.
- Offer emotional support and counseling to patients dealing with reproductive health concerns.
- Collaboration and Communication:
- Work closely with obstetricians, gynecologists, and other healthcare providers to develop and implement care plans.
- Maintain clear and concise documentation of patient care activities and outcomes.
- Medication Management:
- Administer medications and IV therapy as prescribed, ensuring accurate dosages and patient safety.
- Educate patients on proper medication administration and potential side effects.
- Emergency Response:
- Be prepared to respond to Obstetric and Gynecologic emergencies promptly and effectively.
- Perform CPR and other life-saving interventions as required.
- Quality Improvement:
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and assist in the development of best practices in Obstetric and Gynecologic nursing.
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Certification in Obstetric Nursing (RNC-OB) or Women's Health Nursing (WHNP) is a plus.
- CPR and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in Obstetric and Gynecologic nursing.
- Strong knowledge of women's health issues and evidence-based practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment while providing compassionate patient care.
- Ability to stand for extended periods.

RN - Provides and performs oversight, delegation, and coordination of total nursing care with other health care providers to meet holistic care needs of patients. Main duties will be Labor and Delivery. Will also work Med/Surg as needed. Education and/or Experience Graduate of an accredited school of nursing Bachelors degree preferred Previous RN experience preferred Certificates, Licensure, Registrations Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) the State of Iowa Basic Life Support (BLS) required upon completion of orientation Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred
