JOB SUMMARY
The Neuroscience Intensive Care Unit (Neuro ICU) at UT Southwestern is one of the world's premier neurological diagnostic and treatment centers. Our recently opened, state-of-the-art 24-bed unit is equipped and designed to provide coordinated, compassionate care, while closely monitoring and treating patients with life-threatening neurological conditions .
Neuro ICU RNs are scheduled to work 12-hour day shifts (7:00 AM to 7:00 PM) or night shifts (7:00 PM to 7:00 AM) and every other weekend at the William P. Clements Jr. University Hospital (CUH) on the UT Southwestern (UTSW) Medical Center campus in Dallas. This is a full-time, benefit-eligible position. 1. Identifies, evaluates and proposes new informatics opportunities and uses of data/information across the organization to meet clinical requirements.
2. Take leadership in developing team/program goals and objectives for high impact EMR transformation in key areas.
3. Work collaboratively with leadership at prioritizing changes that will meaningfully improve patient safety and interdisciplinary clinical communication both during hospitalization and at transitions of care.
4. Improve functionality of the EMR for communicating with patients about their hospitalization.
5. Oversee the introduction, validation and implementation of clinical information systems with key stakeholders, and identifies support systems and pathways which will integrate these systems into the continuum of clinical practice; serves as the primary facilitator of the process for development, revision, optimization and prioritization.
**Other Duties: Performs other duties as assigned.
This position is security-sensitive and subject to Texas Education Code 51.215, which authorizes UT Southwestern to obtain criminal history record information.
