Job Overview:
As a Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Medical-Surgical/Telemetry, you will play a crucial role in providing comprehensive patient care, monitoring, and coordination of medical-surgical and telemetry services. This position requires a strong foundation in nursing principles, excellent communication skills, and the ability to adapt to a fast-paced healthcare environment.
Responsibilities:
Patient Assessment and Care:
- Conduct thorough patient assessments and develop individualized care plans.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
- Monitor and evaluate patient response to medical interventions.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure effective and holistic patient care.
Medical-Surgical Nursing:
- Provide care to patients with a variety of medical and surgical conditions.
- Monitor and manage post-operative patients.
- Implement evidence-based nursing interventions to promote optimal recovery.
Telemetry Monitoring:
- Utilize telemetry equipment to monitor cardiac rhythms and detect abnormalities.
- Respond promptly to alarms and initiate appropriate interventions.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure timely and accurate communication of critical information.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate and timely electronic health records (EHR).
- Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes.
- Communicate effectively with other healthcare professionals during shift handovers.
Patient and Family Education:
- Educate patients and their families about their medical conditions and treatment plans.
- Provide discharge instructions and resources for continued care at home.
- Foster a supportive and informative environment to address patient and family concerns.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Work collaboratively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.

Qualifications:
- Valid and current RN license in the state of practice.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certifications.
- Previous experience in medical-surgical and telemetry nursing preferred.
