• Salary: $45 - $65 per hour + $40,000 sign on bonus!

JOB OVERVIEW: The Operating Room nurse will function in the circulating and/or scrub role at our ambulatory Operating Room. This role will effectively deliver perioperative care to the surgical patients through the nursing process of assessment, planning, intervention, implementation, and evaluation. The Operating Room nurse will function in the circulating and/or scrub role in the main Operating Room. This role will effectively deliver perioperative care to the surgical patients through the nursing process of assessment, planning, intervention, implementation, and evaluation. The Operating Room nurse will gain experience working with advanced surgical technologies such as O-Arm, Intuitive Xi (newest version of the DaVinci Robot), Stryker spine navigation, ENT Technology, a Zeego Hybrid Room as well as cardiac surgeries.

We will cater to the Registered Nurses area’s of expertise based off the various surgical procedures performed: Breast Surgery/ Cardiovascular Surgery/ Colon & Rectal Surgery/ General Surgery/ Hernia Surgery/ Lymphedema Surgery/ MALS Surgery/ Neurosurgery/ Pediatric Surgery/ Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery/ Thoracic Surgery/ Total Joint Replacement Surgery/ Urologic Surgery/ Vascular Surgery/ Weight Loss Surgery

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing: ASN (required) or BSN (preferred)
• Current Connecticut nursing license *will pay for RN’s not licensed in CT, New York RN’s encouraged to apply.
• Certifications (currently have or willing to obtain within 90 days of hire): CPR, BLS, ACLS, CNOR
• Exercises safe judgment in decision-making.
• Demonstrated interpersonal communication skills.
• Prior knowledge of surgical instrumentation and peri-operative equipment or ability to learn same
• Ability to work with a minimum of supervision and to organize work in order of importance.
• Ability to work effectively in stressful situations and in a variety of peri-operative environments
• Requires manual dexterity to operate equipment and handle instrumentation, hearing to understand verbal instructions and near vision to distinguish supplies and instrumentation
