Form of work4G is a Cardiac/Telemetry 24-bed intermediate care unit that provides nursing care to adult patients with cardiac conditions.
- Care is provided on a 24 hour basis to patients with diagnosis including heart failure, cardiomyopathy, acute coronary syndrome, dysrhythmias, valvar heart disease, congenital heart disease, and pre and post cardiac catheterization and electrophysiology procedural care.
- The RN skill level and nurse-patient ratio allows for frequent monitoring and assessment, and use of designated vasoactive and anti-arrhythmic medications in stable situations.
- The clinical services provided include telemetry monitoring, patient and family education, physical assessment, post procedure recovery, pre procedure monitoring and preparation, oxygen therapy, blood administration, pain management, IV therapy, sheath removal, radial hemostasis band management, and medication administration.
- Remote telemetry monitoring is provided by nursing technicians to other areas of the hospital 24 hours a day via placement of telemetry.

- Assists the CNS and Unit Director to conduct annual educational needs assessment.
- Based on needs assessments, assists CNS and UD to provide assurance that staff have opportunities to acquire necessary knowledge, skills and attitudes to fulfill role expectations.
- Coordinates unit based clinical orientation program for new staff, students and preceptors.
- Works with preceptors to individualizes unit orientation.
- Assists departmental or unit teams in the developing annual competency checklists.
- Under direction of the CNS and Unit Director, assists with meeting the education and training needs of staff.
- Assumes a staff level leadership and resource role with the interdisciplinary team.
- Contributes to evaluating the use of resources and to cost containment activities.
- Assists with the development of clinical leadership and direction of the CNS and UD, Integrates patient /family education activities into unit based staff development and continuing education programs.
- Collaborates with management and patient/family advisory council to develop standardized teaching materials for patient and family learning needs.
- Models effective critical thinking skills in others.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum of Bachelor's degree in Nursing. Two years experience as an RN with a minimum of two years of experience in the area of concentration. Must have a valid, active unencumbered Nursing license or temporary permit approved by the Georgia Licensing Board. Nursing certification preferred. Completion of formal preceptor training workshop. BLS required and ACLS may be required in designated departments. If promoted internally or hired externally, the incumbent must complete UNE criteria requirements within nine months of promotion or hire, including completion of Enhancing your Communication HLC#6488. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS (Medium): 20-50 lbs; 0-33% of the work day (occasionally); 11-25 lbs, 34-66% of the workday (frequently); 01-10 lbs, 67-100% of the workday (constantly); Lifting 50 lbs max; Carrying of objects up to 25 lbs; Occasional to frequent standing & walking, Occasional sitting, Close eye work (computers, typing, reading, writing), Physical demands may vary depending on assigned work area and work tasks.
