Position Type: Temporary, 13-week contract
Shift: 12-hour nights, 36 hours guaranteed per week
Pay Rate: $47 per hour
Orientation Rate: $20 per hour during the first week
Start Date: TBD (Pending clearance, estimated timeframe of 1 month)
Job Description: We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Registered Nurse to join our team at a correctional facility in Cumberland, MD. As a Corrections RN, you will provide comprehensive nursing care to incarcerated individuals within our facility. This position requires a high level of compassion, adaptability, and professionalism.
Responsibilities:
Conduct health assessments and screenings upon intake of new inmates.
Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by healthcare providers.
Monitor and evaluate patient progress, documenting observations and interventions accurately.
Respond promptly to medical emergencies within the facility.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans.
Educate patients on health promotion and disease prevention strategies.
Adhere to facility policies and procedures, as well as state and federal regulations governing correctional healthcare.
Maintain confidentiality and uphold ethical standards in all interactions with patients and colleagues.
Qualifications:
Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Maryland.
Nursing experience, preferably in a correctional or similar setting.
BLS certification required
Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
Ability to work autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and emergent situations.
Must pass background checks and clearance processes required for employment in a correctional facility.
