With a gorgeous backdrop of Vail Mountain's ski slopes, our LDRP unit consisting of 7 rooms is a sought-after location, not just for patients but for employees. Aside from our labor rooms, we boast a single suite OR, 3 Antepartum/Postpartum overflow rooms, and a Level II Nursery. We are a closely knit team with a variety of cultural backgrounds that help promote unity within the department as well as with our patients. We care largely for low-risk pregnancies with term infants and at times have high-risk patients suffering from: preeclampsia, severe hypertension, diabetes, and preterm births. We are seeking nurses with a focus on perinatal specialties, with either a labor and delivery, or Level II nursery background. Willing to train candidates in postpartum care if needed. Amenities for staff include things like the "Zen Den" that feature massage chairs, along with a Starbucks and outdoor patio looking directly outward to Vail Mountain.
About the opportunity:
This position is responsible for caring for antepartum patients, laboring patients through childbirth, recovery, and postpartum, lactation education and assistance, providing family centered care including the well newborn and the Level 2 Nursery. Assure expert, compassion, individualize nursing care for patients and families expected. They collaborate with providers, staff and other members of the team to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
What you will do:
  1. Oversees the daily patient flow to optimize patient care, safety and satisfaction.
  2. Demonstrates ability to triage incoming patient requests for services.
  3. Delivers patient education to facilitate plan of care, employer informed healthcare choices, and promote optimal wellness.
  4. Demonstrates ability to delegate care appropriately and according to Colorado statue.
  5. Demonstrates competent healthcare assessment skills, prioritizing skills and critical thinking skills.
  6. Demonstrates ability to handle high telephone volume of patient requests for medications, information and assistance.
  7. Administers medications, performs treatments, and assists in procedures as needed; consistently adhering to patient safety guidelines.
  8. Coordinates patient care with other physician practices, Vail Health and others as needed to achieve the highest possible level of patient care and satisfaction.
  9. Demonstrates ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  10. Delivers excellent service by utilizing Relationship-Based Care to advocate for safety, patient preferences, and optimal communication through partnering with patients and families.
  11. Role models the principals of a Just Culture and Organizational Values.
  12. Perform other duties as assigned. Must be HIPAA compliant.

What you will need:
Experience:
  • One-year clinical experience required.

License(s):
  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state of Colorado or from a valid compact state required.

Certification(s):
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (NRP), required.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), required.

Computer / Typing:
  • Must possess, or be able to obtain within 90 days, the computers skills necessary to complete online learning requirements for job-specific competencies, access online forms and policies, complete online benefits enrollment, etc.

Must have working knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing, and speaking English.
Education:
  • Minimum of Associate Nursing Degree for positions hired after 07/01/2018.

Hourly Pay:
$36-$59.33 USD
