Job Summary
RAYUS Radiology is looking for an ASC Nurse Lead to join our team! As a ASC Nurse Lead you will, provideleadership and management to nursing staff in outpatient Ambulatory Surgical Center and assures that services are provided within professional standards. Maintains positive work relationships with radiologists and other physicians referring to the company.This is a fulltime position working Monday-Friday between the hours of 7:30am - 5:00pm (8 hour shifts) at our St Louis Park and Woodbury centers. No weekends or call.
Essential Job Functions:
(30%) Management Administration

• Maintains an orderly and clean work area to promote good safety habits for patients and co-workers
• Assists the Clinical Operations Manager with quality assurance, improvement and safety initiatives
• Assists the Clinical Operations Manager with staff planning, hiring process, and orientation
• Participates in staff meetings
• Assists the Clinical Operations Manager with nurse performance appraisals
• Assists the Clinical Operations Manager with training and education on emergency response, safety, OSHA, hazardous waste, infection control, ergonomics, sterilizing and competencies
• Supports staff in scheduling, coverage, answering questions, trouble shooting, etc.
• Monitors scheduled appointments for concerns and communicates effectively with nursing team and clinic team
• Monitors grievance investigations and follow up. Escalates as appropriate.
• Monitors incident reports; investigates and follows up. Escalates as appropriate.
• Monitors and manages supplies- cost, stock, back orders, expiration dates
• Monitors and manages contracted services
• Linen, Medical Company Representatives, Biomedical Engineering, and Maintenance
• Promotes and motivates good customer relations with patients, physicians, visitors and other company personnel
• Ensures compliance with state regulations and internal policies
• Remains self-motivated to increase level of understanding and knowledge of the field, disease, and new procedures as they evolve
• Enters SLP and WB schedule blocks into RIS
• Informs radiologists of ASC issues and concerns
• Ensures compliance with all HIPPA guidelines

(65%) Patient Care

• Explains procedures and treatments to patient to gain cooperation and understanding, and reduce apprehension
• Screens patient prior to procedure for any precautions or contra-indications
• Administers prescribed medications and treatments (i.e. contrasts and sedations) in accordance with approved standards and regulations for care
• Prepares equipment and aids Physician during treatment and examination of patient
• Maintains awareness of comfort and safety needs of patient
• Observes patient, records significant conditions and reactions, and notifies supervisor or Physician of patient's condition and reaction to drugs, treatments, and significant incidents
• Monitors patient conditions including vital signs to detect deviations from normal and assess condition of patient
• Responds to life saving situations based upon nursing standards, policies, procedures, and protocol
• Documents patient history and physical assessment
• Initiates a patient education plan according to the individualized needs of the patient, as prescribed by Physician and/or clinic policy including patient and family instruction

(5%) Performs other duties as assigned
Requirements
Required:

• Associates or Bachelor's degree in Nursing
• Registered Nurse with current appropriate state license
• Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification
• BLS and ACLS
• Minimum of 1-2 years of supervisory experience in a hospital or clinic

Preferred:

• Experience in surgical centers/radiology
