Labor and Delivery/NICURegisteredNurse
TheLabor and Delivery/NICURegistered Nurse (RN)position works with mothers during their final stages of pregnancy helpingwith birthing,monitoringthe mother's vital signs, and becoming astute in signs andsymptomsofpossible complications. They are involved in patienteducation and addressing the psychosocial needs of the mothers after delivery.
Labor and Delivery/NICURNRoles and Responsibilities
- Taking vitals for the mother and baby.
- Administeringmedication and monitoring contractions.
- Coaching the mother during labor and delivery.
- Identifyingcomplications during labor and delivery.
- Monitoring contractions and caring for the mother after she gives birth.
- Ability to handle emotionallydifficult situationsand be able to make quick decisions toprovideproper medical care.
RequiredSkills & Qualifications:
Understanding applicable state regulations and following compliance practices
- Graduate of an accreditedAssociate Degree, Diploma, or Baccalaureate Degree program in Nursing Preferred.
- Current Licensure orpermitto practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Tennessee or compact state.
- One year ofclinical nursing experience in Labor and Delivery required and Operating Room (OR)preferred.
- Certified Post Anesthesia Nurse (CPAN) andCertified AmbulatoryPerianesthesiaNurse (CAPA) preferred.
- Employee must have valid BLS upon hire. ACLS, NRP, CPI and STABLE required within 90 days of hire.
- Labor and Delivery and NICU Experience
- 2nd Assistant preferred.
