Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Assess and monitor the condition of expectant mothers and fetuses during Labor and Delivery.
- Administer medications and assist with medical procedures as needed.
- Collaborate with physicians, midwives, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Provide emotional support and education to expectant mothers and their families.
- Monitor and record vital signs, fetal heart rates, and contractions.
- Assist with the management of high-risk pregnancies and emergencies.
- Prepare patients for Labor and Delivery and assist with the birthing process.
- Care for newborns, including performing initial assessments, monitoring vital signs, and assisting with breastfeeding.
- Ensure a safe and sterile environment in the Labor and Delivery unit.
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.
- Stay current with best practices and advancements in Labor and Delivery nursing.
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in Labor and Delivery nursing.
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to remain calm and focused in high-stress situations.
