- Taking vitals for the mother and baby.
- Administering medication and monitoring contractions.
- Coaching the mother during Labor and Delivery.
- Identifying complications during Labor and Delivery.
- Monitoring contractions and caring for the mother after she gives birth.
- Ability to handle emotionally difficult situations and be able to make quick decisions to provide proper medical care.
- Graduate of an accredited Associate Degree, Diploma, or Baccalaureate Degree program in Nursing Preferred.
- Current Licensure or permit to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Tennessee or compact state.
- One year of clinical nursing experience in Labor and Delivery required and Operating Room (OR) preferred.
- Certified Post Anesthesia Nurse (CPAN) and Certified Ambulatory Perianesthesia Nurse (CAPA) preferred
- Employee must have valid BLS upon hire. ACLS, NRP, CPI and STABLE required within 90 days of hire.
