Job Summary
The Registered Nurse II, under general supervision, provides patient care, evaluations, and treatment. Assists with the day-to-day operations for assigned area in clinic. Supervises assigned staff.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Provides direct patient care, patient evaluations, and treatment in accordance with Professional Nursing Standards.
- Uses the health care team approach to provide triage of patients, physical assessments, and treatments, including the administration of medication and therapy as directed.
- Maintains and monitors patient records, assesses health care needs, and provides patient education.
- Assesses, coordinates and assists with the day-to-day operations for assigned area in clinic. Evaluates potential risks to patients and staff and initiates resolution through effective education and change process.
- Supervises assigned staff and analyzes workload and skill requirements to meet patient care needs.
- Serves as unit/department resource person for the clinic regarding policy, procedure, and standards.
- Provides preventative education programs to students, such as residence life programs and student organization programs.
- Maintains inventory and requisition of medical supplies, medications, and equipment.

Additional Responsibilities
- Administer immunizations and PPD tests to students under standing orders of physician.
- Perform CLIA-waived lab tests.
- Responsible for assisting with COVID-19 pandemic provider responsibilities including administration of COVID-19 vaccines, administration and interpretation of COVID-19 tests as well as clinical coordination and management of COVID-19 testing site and shipping of COVID-19 testing kits as per A&M System policy.
Minimum Requirements
- Education - Must be licensed by the State of Texas as a Registered Nurse.
- Experience - Two years of experience as a Registered Nurse.
Preferred Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing
- Experience in school health and/or public health setting
Knowledge and Abilities
Knowledge of:
- Word processing and spreadsheet applications.
- Standard nursing procedures and techniques.
Ability to:
- Multitask and work cooperatively with others.
- Verbal and written communication skills.
- Interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Work with sensitive information and maintain confidentiality.
- Ability to use and manage an Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system.
Preferred Knowledge and Abilities
- BLS Instructor certification
- Vision screener certification
- Mental health first aid certification
Licensing / Professional Certification - State of Texas Licensed RN and CPR certified.

Salary: $58,510.40/annually
