The Office of Aging and Long-Term Care is seeking a Registered Nurse to actively participate in the development and delivery of educational efforts for hospice and palliative care related initiatives across New York State. This individual will identify and recommend training needs, accurately interpret and communicate federal and state regulations, and review and analyze research and provider data to promote best clinical practices related to end of life care. The incumbent will work directly with regional and central office staff responsible for quality assurance and improvement of Hospice and Palliative Care, taking steps to ensure guidelines are met and model practices communicated. As the nursing services subject matter expert, the incumbent will interpret and provide clarification on existing standards, requirements and policies and will represent the department at meetings and public forums focused on end-of-life care. The incumbent will work with the Center Director to ensure the goals of the Center are met.
Required Skills:
Candidate must be a Registered Professional Nurse, licensed and currently registered to practice nursing in New York State. The preferred candidate will have exceptional organizational skills, as well as strong time-management, critical-thinking and problem-solving skills. In addition, the candidate must have excellent listening, verbal and written communication skills, as well as a working knowledge of all Microsoft Office products, experience with data systems, and proficiency in working with MS Office products required.
Preferred Qualifications: The ideal Candidate will be familiar with standards, rules and guidelines governing end of life care. The candidate will be able to communicate effectively with both internal and external stakeholders.

Pay: $100,000.00 - $114,000.00 per year
