DUTIES INCLUDE:
The incumbent practices as a RN in the Emergency Department (ED) located in the Inpatient and Emergency Services Division (IESD), VA Portland HCS. The ED is a Level II facility providing urgent and emergency care to eligible Veterans. Staff provides triage and nursing care for a patient population which includes: cardiovascular disease, pulmonary disease, diabetes, substance abuse, psychiatric and minor trauma. The RN is accountable as a primary nurse for a defined group of patients for the entire episode of care. Based on education and experiences, may be assigned responsibility as a preceptor, charge nurse or unit shift leader.

Work Schedule: Shifts may include 5:00 am to 5:00 pm, 7:00 am to 7:00 pm, 9:00 am to 9:00 pm, 12:00 pm to 12:00 am, 2:00 pm to 2:00 am, 5:00 pm to 5:00 am
Preferred Experience:
- Two (2) or more years of Medical/Surgical or Critical Care experience
- Bachelors of Science in Nursing Degree (BSN)
Basic Requirements
