Job Specification
- Minimum Education Required:
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program
- Minimum Experience Required:
- 2 years clinical experience working in a physician's office or ambulatory care setting preferred
- Licensure/Certification Required:
- Possess current license as an RN in Pennsylvania, or must pass nursing boards within 6 months of hire
- BLS required or obtained within 1 month of hire
Skills
- Coordinating the provisions of direct patient care according to Nursing Care Standards.
- Utilizing computer systems to schedule and register patients, verify insurance, and perform order entry and result reporting.
- Performing fingerstick and venipuncture blood collection, testing, and all QC and QA as required.
- Coordinating with the hematology supervisor, supervising physician, and clinical pharmacist on a daily basis to ensure that all testing meets requirements.
- Assessing patients, formulating patient care plan, implementing and evaluating care, and recording completely.
- Utilizing excellent interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with patients, family, and other members of the healthcare team.
