ABOUT THE PROGRAM:DEPARTMENT OF CORRECTIONS
To be a member of the core team responsible for the provision of Medication Assisted Treatment to the
inmate population within Department of Correction facilities.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Recruit, hire, and train nurses and medical assistant staff for OTP treatment in correctional
setting.
•Create and implement policies and procedures for nursing and medical assistant procedures,
including dispensing, diversion control, toxicology and phlebotomy, internal and external medical
records.
•Create, monitor, and train staff on protocols for managing the delivery, stocking, security, and
ordering of medications for Opioid Use Disorder.
•Coordinate medical treatment with DOC Addictions and Medical Staff, communicate client
progress and changes on treatment plan with DOC staff, including dose changes, inductions, and
referrals.
•Monitor performance of nursing and medical assistant staff, including performance evaluations,
performance improvement plans, and progressive discipline.
•Coordinate client care with Medical Practitioners (APRN, MD), including referrals, medical
records, monitoring client withdrawal, response to medications, vital signs and medical care on
Correctional Health Care
•Participate in oversight coordination meetings between DOC/CHR leadership to review service
coordination.
•Work closely with Clinical Program Director, including providing supervision and consultation in
treatment team meetings.
•Ensure program services are in compliance with state and federal regulations.
•Other duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Nursing education sufficient to receive licensure in CT.
Experience: Experience in Opioid Treatment Program.
Licensure/Certification/Registration: Current RN license in the State of Connecticut required,
Certification in CPR, and must have a valid driver's license.
COMPENSATION*:
$76,924/yr min to $115,386yr max
*Actual rates are determined at the time of offer and are based on relevant experience, as well as adherence to our internal equity policy. Many of our positions offer program/location differentials and/or sign-on incentives. (Please note, for part-time positions this range would be pro-rated based on hours worked)
