Job Summary:
As a Registered Nurse (RN) in a clinic setting, you will play a vital role in providing patient-centered care in an outpatient environment. Your responsibilities will include assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care for individuals seeking healthcare services in the clinic. Collaboration with healthcare providers, patients, and support staff is essential to ensure the delivery of comprehensive and coordinated care.
Responsibilities:
Patient Assessment:
- Conduct thorough assessments of patients' health status during clinic visits.
- Obtain and review medical histories, vital signs, and other relevant information.
- Identify patient needs and concerns, addressing them in collaboration with healthcare providers.
Care Planning:
- Develop individualized care plans based on patient assessments and in consultation with physicians or other healthcare providers.
- Coordinate and assist in the implementation of care plans, including medication management, treatments, and referrals.
Patient Education:
- Educate patients on their medical conditions, treatment plans, and preventive care measures.
- Provide guidance on medications, lifestyle modifications, and self-care strategies.
- Ensure patients have a clear understanding of their healthcare plans.
Medication Administration:
- Administer medications as prescribed by healthcare providers.
- Educate patients on proper medication administration, potential side effects, and interactions.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Collaborate with physicians, nurse practitioners, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient care.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and other clinic staff.
- Facilitate referrals to specialists and other healthcare services as needed.
Documentation:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic or paper health records.
- Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes in accordance with clinic policies and regulatory requirements.
Health Promotion:
- Promote preventive health measures and wellness initiatives.
- Participate in health education programs and screenings for the community.
Quality Improvement:
- Contribute to quality improvement initiatives within the clinic.
- Participate in ongoing education and training to stay informed about current best practices in nursing.
Qualifications:
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
- Experience in ambulatory care or outpatient clinic settings is advantageous.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems.
