The Registered Nurse-Cardiac Cath. Lab will be responsible for providing quality nursing care in collaboration with the medical staff.
The successful candidate will be able to:
Administer patient medications
Update patient charting and document on the procedure
Assist in interventional procedures
Monitor for signs and symptoms of infections or side effects of the procedure
Monitor and document patient vital signs
Monitor patient sedation levels during and after the procedure
Preparedness for emergency situations
Examination of the patient pre and post-catheterization
Circulate and scrub during neuro, cardiac catheterization and electrophysiology procedures
Assist in diagnostic procedures
Ensure consent paperwork is accurately completed
Discharge teaching with patients and families including procedural, medications, activities, and dietary
Prepare patients for procedures
Perform any and all other duties assigned
Must have a minimum of 2 years of Cardiac Cath and ICU. Lab clinical experience.
Thorough up to date knowledge and understanding in EKG interpretation, and cardiac medication administration.
Must be able to take call and be at the hospital within 30 minutes from time paged.
Provides quality patient care through the nursing process of assessment, diagnosing, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
Clearly communicates, both orally and in writing, to foster staff and patient understanding of treatment plan. Sensitive to the patient's needs such as physical, spiritual, and emotional and evaluates response to the delivery of care.
Supports and promotes organizational programs to ensure quality patient care.
Effectively manages department/patient activities in a timely and efficient manner to ensure the delivery of quality and efficient care.
Provide quality customer service to patients, families, coworkers, and other members of the interdisciplinary health care team to create a professional and respectful environment.
