Overview: The incumbent in this role will be required to obtain a CAC (Common Access Card) within professional boundaries. They will deliver healthcare services during both emergency situations and routine care to individuals within the Marine Corps Prepositioning Program (MCPP). The primary focus is on promoting health awareness and conservation through training, screenings, and personalized counseling.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer emergency first-aid and medical services, including treating burns, abrasions, minor dislocations, applying splints, and bandaging. Additionally, remove superficial foreign bodies from eyes, etc., for individuals who sustain injuries or become unwell while on the Company's premises.
- Develop, organize, implement, and, as necessary, conduct training and screening programs aimed at encouraging employee engagement in personal healthcare and detecting potential medical issues.
- Coordinate and participate in physical examinations and specialized health assessments for applicants and employees.
- Offer counseling or referrals for a wide range of health concerns to employees and supervisors. Participate in recovery programs, identify issues, provide medical guidance, and counsel employees requiring assistance to maintain a productive work environment.
- Maintain professional connections through involvement in professional associations, continuous education courses, and seminars to stay informed about agencies and publications beneficial to employees. Maintain a reference library of medical literature for distribution to MCPP program personnel.
- Collaborate with the Safety Department to ensure the correction of unsafe conditions. Offer medical guidance to the Safety Department and Safety Committee.
- Manage the daily operation and upkeep of the healthcare facility, including maintaining complete medical records and filing systems.
- Draft and type correspondence, as well as standard or specialized reports.
- Adhere to all relevant MCPP ISO-9001 policies and procedures.
- Undertake other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications / Certification / Education:
- Possess an Associate's Degree or equivalent in nursing, behavioral, physical, or biological sciences related to nursing or public health. Additionally, hold the appropriate licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse.
- Have a minimum of one (1) year of industrial nursing experience and one (1) year of experience in hospital, public health, emergency, or psychiatric nursing. Approved occupational health nursing training can substitute for part or all of the industrial nursing experience requirement.
- Demonstrate a working knowledge of general office and administrative procedures.
- Display the ability to adhere to established methods, quality standards, and timelines relevant to this position.
- Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a CAC card and base access.
