Summary:
Community Care Hospice is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team as an On-Call RN. This role is crucial in providing exemplary end-of-life care to residents in Saline, McPherson, Marion, Reno, and Harvey counties. As an On-Call RN, you will be responsible for responding to patient care needs during evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Community Care Hospice is a collaboration of several non-profit senior living communities to offer exemplary end-of-life care to residents in Saline, McPherson, Marion, Reno, and Harvey counties. Partnered with Midland Care Connection, a non-profit Kansas hospice provider with 45 years of hospice expertise, we are committed to delivering the highest quality of care.
Standby Pay
In addition to the base salary, this role offers a standby pay of $25 for weekday shifts, $50 for weekend shifts, and $100 for holiday shifts.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Respond promptly to after-hours calls, offering compassionate and professional nursing care.
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' physical, emotional, and spiritual needs.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals like physicians, social workers, and chaplains to design and implement personalized care plans.
- Administer medications and treatments as necessary.
- Educate patients and families about the philosophy and services of hospice care.
- Participate in team meetings, case conferences, and continual improvement activities.
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in compliance with regulatory standards and organization policies.
Qualifications
Required:
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Kansas
- Minimum of 1 years of nursing experience, preferably in hospice or palliative care
- Proficient in pain management, symptom control, and end-of-life care
- Commitment to the philosophy of hospice care and its continual improvement
Preferred:
- Experience in hospice or palliative care
- Strong organizational skills and time management
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
