Job Description
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Nurses provide clinical care and treatment to a caseload of patients. Working with a variety of patients.
DUTIES:
- Observing and recording patient behavior
- Consulting with physicians and other healthcare professionals
- Establishing treatment plans, operating medical equipment
- Supervising licensed practical nurses (LPNs) and certified nurse assistants (CNAs)
- Address customer service concerns during the shift.
- Performing diagnostic tests
- Treating medical emergencies, such as heart attacks, strokes, car accidents and burns as well as recovering post-operative patients
- Administering medications and treatments. Ability to document condition and status required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:
· Good clinical skills
· Ability to recognize pathology and perform charting and preliminary exams. Skill in patient health education. Ability to establish and manage efficient scheduling.
· Ability to effectively communicate with people of cultural and socioeconomic diversity.
· Ability to interact positively with staff. Ability to keep current with developments in nursing.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Completion of an accredited Registered Nurse course, and RN licensure in Minnesota
