Description
RN Requirements
Ensure patients receive quality and safe delivery of patient care services
- Oversee patients scheduling and availability of nursing staff to care for patients in a timely manner.
- Ensure treatment rooms and equipment are cleaned and in order.
- Appropriate use of equipment and supplies needed for each case. Supplies and equipment signed out and all supplies used in a cost-effective manner. Patient to sign delivery slip and return to supply department.
- Infection control and safety policies are implemented per policy and procedure.
- Participate in development of Infusion clinical procedures. Compliance with JCAHO standards of care.
- Patient condition is assessed at every visit.
- Orders are accurately received, implemented and evaluated with each patient.
- Physicians orders are accurately received, implemented and evaluated for the patients needs. Patients status and ongoing needs communicated to doctor and appropriate individuals when discharged from care.
- Participation in quality assurance. QAR forms are completed as needed.
Nursing Efficiency
Review and improve nursing efficiency and maintain Joint Commission Standards.
- Ensure that infection control and safety measures are implemented in accordance with policy.
- Ongoing monitoring of medical record documentation to promote compliance with State and Federal law and Joint Commission Standards.
- Assist with ongoing monitoring of problematic areas via the Performance Improvement Process.
- Ensure compliance with infusion Policies and procedures.
- Ensure that nursing staff is in compliance with all State and Federal Laws or regulations governing the practice of nursing.
- Complete and report assigned areas of Key Indicator Report on a monthly basis.
Nursing Services
Coordinate and integrate all aspects of nursing service promoting people first philosophy.
- Maintain clinical expertise through ongoing continuing education programs, literature, and nursing seminars.
- Ensure clinical skills are assessed annually.
- Maintain current nursing license and CPR card.
- Able to check for patient information in the computer on weekends and be able to charge out supplies in the computer and print out supply list as needed.
Patient Care
Referral process and coordination of patient care.
- Referral process, coordination of patient care, assisting home health agencies to ensure appropriate care, correspondence and nursing notes provided.
- Facilitate problem solving when grievances are presented.
- Work with discharge planner to promote easy patient referrals.
- Work with marketing. Meet new referral sources and visit nursing agencies to better promote patient care with Infusion Division.
- Work with doctor's offices to coordinate orders and labs.
Other Responsibilities
- Available for on-call assignments, after-hours, and weekends.
- Responsible for patient intakes and proper routing of paperwork when needed, especially on weekends and after hours.
Requirements
Experience
- Minimum of 1-3 years related experience
- Infusion Experience is preferred
Education
- Minimum Associates Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing is Preferred
License
- Valid California Registered Nurse License; Valid BLS Certification (Minimum)
- Chemotherapy/Biotherapy Provider Card is preferred.
