Do you take great care of your patients, enjoy caring for children, and are looking for a job that takes great care of you? Children’s Dental Surgery has an immediate opportunity available for a Registered Nurse (RN) at our Jackson, NJ Surgery Center!
The RN provides both Pre-Op and PACU nursing care to patients in our pediatric ambulatory surgical center. You will be responsible for providing and supervising direct and indirect total nursing care responsibilities to our young patients utilizing the nursing process (assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating) in achieving the goals of the surgery center.
Hours: 40 hours/ week; Rotating shifts vary between M-F 6:30am-4:00pm.
What You Will Do:
- Assess, plan, implement, evaluate and accurately document nursing care for the pre-operative
- Coordinate all aspects of nursing care with pre-operative team to achieve defined patient outcomes
- Provide a safe environment for patient and family
- Works closely with the surgeons and the anesthesia care providers to guide the child safely through the postoperative period
- Provide nursing care to patients in Pre-Op, Operating Room and PACU.
- Assisting patients recovering from anesthesia
- Assessing the patient's health status and previous medical history
- Assess the learning needs of the parent/caregiver
- Provide appropriate education to the patient’s family regarding their individualized plan of care for at home recovery
- Other duties and tasks associated with optimizing the operational efficiency of the surgery center
What You Will Need:
- Graduate of accredited school of nursing
- Experience required in a pre-operative setting, ER, ICU, PACU, and/or pediatrics
- Ability to obtain Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) within 6 months of start date
- Current New Jersey State License in good standing
