Registered Nurse Duties and Responsibilities
- Sign NDA due to the high profile of the patient and to ensure complete privacy for the patient and all family members
- Comfortable working in a home with security cameras (inside and outside of the home) and security guards(outside) 24/7
- Monitor patient vitals; detect changes in symptoms, health, and/or pain
- Administer medication
- Comfortable working in the patient's home in Brentwood for 12-hour shifts, alongside one other caregiver
- Flexible with the schedule and willing to fill in and help if the schedule (this is rare) is adjusted--any shift
- Willing to sit with the patient if he is admitted to the hospital-family requires this for the comfort of the patient
- Comfortable working alongside support caregiver during the shift --teamwork is a must in the position
- assist with any ADL's-the patient can walk with a walker but the family requires a staff member to always be within arms reach
- Familiar with AID
- Set up procedures with appropriate tools; maintain a full inventory of supplies
- Transport the patient in a family-provided vehicle (SUV) provided by the employer
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations
- Communicate clearly and directly with patients; provide emotional support to patients and family members under stress
- Fill out and update patient documents and charts
- Light cooking and light cleaning
Registered Nurse Requirements and Qualifications
- Associate or bachelor's degree in nursing
- Valid state nursing license
- Experience as a nurse in a hospital or other healthcare setting
- Understanding of standard medical practices and procedures
- Excellent communication skills and great bedside manner
- Ability to work days, evenings, nights, holidays, and weekends-flexibility/accommodating changes in schedule is imperative
