Shift: (Full Time/Part Time, Days, M-F)
Work Location: UHealth Boca Raton Center
The University of Miami/UHealth UMHC/UMMG Department of Infusion/Neurology has an exciting opportunity for a Full Time PER DIEM Registered Nurse 1. The Registered Nurse 1 delivers patient-family centered care in a culturally competent manner utilizing evidence-based standards of quality, safety, and service while ensuring population-specific patient care. The Infusion Nurse, to work in our Boca Raton location, will be under the general direction of the Medical Director of the Infusion Center and the supervision of the Neurology Nurse Supervisor. Will provide skilled nursing care to assigned patients; assesses, plans, implements and evaluates total patient care and coordinates patient and family teachings. Ensures all aspects of performance are in compliance with internal policies and procedures and with all federal, state, and mandated rules; ensures high quality customer service and provides a safe environment when rendering care. Assures compliance with all clinical safety standards, promotes professional practice models that encourage staff collaboration, committee participation, and organizational involvement. professional staff behaviors that facilitate positive relationships among colleagues, physicians, administration, and other University personnel.

• Ensures that professional and skilled nursing care has been provided to assigned patients as outlined in the physician's plan of care
  

• Reports to supervisor on services rendered, problems concerning patient's needs and resolution to those needs; reports to the physician any changes of the patient's condition and reaction to treatment
  

• May participate in the patient care planning conference and revision of plan of care as changes occur
  

• Initiates and applies appropriate preventive, therapeutic nursing procedures and techniques as ordered by physician
  

• Administers medications and intravenous solutions
  

• Completes all documentation in a timely manner; maintains patient clinical records and reports in accordance with policies and as required
  

• Counsels patients and family members regarding patient care needs
  

• Participates in in-services as required
  

• Maintain Crash Cart and order supplies for the cart according to guidelines
  

• Maintains log of medications received and dispensed.
  

• Maintains log of daily refrigerator temperature as required for quality assurance
  

• Inventories patient supplies and stocks supplies appropriately
  

• Coordinates patient's care with home care agencies when required
  

• Assist with securing medications for patients

CORE QUALIFICATIONS
Education:

• Bachelor's degree (BSN) from accredited nursing school.
  

• Registered Nurse License
  
• Basic Life Support Certification (BLS)
  
• ACLS
  

• No previous experience
  

Knowledge, Skills and Attitudes:

• Knowledge of medical terminology
  

• Knowledge of nursing care methods and procedures
  
• In-depth knowledge of health and safety guidelines and procedures (i.e. sanitation, decontamination etc.)
  
• Excellent patient experience skills
  
• Ability to recognize, analyze, and solve a variety of problems
  
• Ability to maintain effective interpersonal relationships
  

• Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form
