Regional Trainer

Christensen Farms is one of the largest, family-owned pork producers in the United States, marketing approximately 3 million hogs per year. Headquartered in Sleepy Eye, Minnesota, the company operates throughout the Midwest with facilities in Minnesota, Iowa, Nebraska, Illinois, and South Dakota. Christensen Farms owns four feed mills, manages 145,000 sows on 44 farms, and oversees more than 350 nurseries and grow-finish sites. The company is vertically integrated with a strong presence across the pork value chain - from farm to fork. Christensen Farms is the largest shareholder of Triumph Foods LLC, a producer-owned primary pork processing plant in St. Joseph, Missouri. In turn, Triumph Foods members own 50 percent of Daily's Premium Meats, a specialty pork processor of bacon and other premium pork products. Triumph Foods also holds a 50 percent partnership in Seaboard Triumph Foods, LLC of Sioux City, Iowa, a primary pork processing plant.
Position Overview & Responsibilities:
This position is responsible for technical training on farms within sow production, primarily focused on best practices for farrowing and breeding. This position will work in conjunction with the Farm Manager and Service Manager gauging the training needs of individuals and teams, assisting with the onboarding of new talent, assisting with the preparation of presentations, and training materials, ensuring trainee safety, and assisting with the certification process. Additionally, this position will engage with business unit managers and other operational leaders to develop system action plans consistent with achieving business plan targets.
Major Areas of Accountability:

• Deliver technical training on farms within live operations
• Assist in the evaluation of talent
• Identify strengths and gaps within the current training programs
• Collaborate with peers and service managers on problem solving any training gaps or needs
• Ensure safe work practices while training
• Confirm training alignment with SOP's
• Maintain regional training schedule
• Assist in tracking learners training
• Connect individual roles and responsibilities to achieve successful outcomes
• Work with content owners, schedule recurring programs
• Ensure all solution communications are initiated and timely
• Assist in the Certification process for Apprentices and Specialists
• Strengthen relationships with contributors and stakeholders
• Participate in industry functions to improve operational knowledge & business acumen
• Assist in troubleshooting opportunistic areas within CF both operational and non-operational to improve outcomes in productivity, cost management and employee relations

• 4 Year degree or equivalent experience required
• Commercial pork production expertise required
• 3-5 Year's experience with Commercial Pork Production preferred
• Bilingual (English/Spanish)
• Previous On the Job Training Experience required
• Passion for teaching and training
• Valid driver's license

• MS Office software skills
• Proven excellent oral and written communication skills
• Demonstrated ability to work in a team-oriented atmosphere
• Ability to manage time and priorities in a fast-paced, changing environment
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to effectively build strong working relationships with a variety of internal and external contacts
