ABOUT THE POSITION

Regional Technology Enabled Lead, Northeast Region | Hybrid | New York, New Jersey 

VHB is seeking a Regional Technology Enabled Lead for the Northeast Region (New York, New Jersey) to lead our growing Technology practice.  

As the Regional Technology Enabled Lead, you'll be at the forefront of technology-driven transformation in our industry. You'll lead a team dedicated to delivering technology projects while helping to shape our regional strategy and driving business growth. Your role will encompass everything from setting strategic direction to fostering collaboration and integration of technology in all aspects of our work. (Transportation, Land Development, Planning and Design and Environmental)

Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Vision: Develop and communicate a compelling vision and implementation strategies for local and regional teams, positioning VHB at the forefront of technology adoption in the Southeast Region.
  • Market Expertise: Stay ahead of industry trends, assess internal and external capabilities, and champion strategic initiatives, fostering a "OneVHB" mentality.
  • Business Development/Operations: Lead efforts to identify and pursue strategic pursuits, develop client relationships, and cultivate partnerships with technology vendors. Prepare scopes, budgets, schedules and negotiate with clients.
  • Team Leadership: Oversee the Regional Technology staff, mentor team members, and promote the advancement of data and technology initiatives.
  • Project Excellence: Manage high-profile projects, budgets, and schedules, ensuring quality control and financial progress.
  • Industry Engagement: Represent VHB at regional events, conferences, and seminars while contributing to thought leadership in the industry.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Technology Expertise: Comprehensive understanding of practical technologies, with expertise in one or more specific areas relevant to VHB's focus including Model Based Design, GIS, Data Analytics, AI & Machine learning, AR/VR, and Mobile Data Collection to name a few.
  • Leadership: Strong leadership skills, capable of coordinating subject matter experts, and inspiring collaboration within and beyond your expertise.
  • Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage positively at all levels.
  • Strategic Thinking: strategic thinker who can develop a forward-thinking vision for the practice.
  • Project Management: Excellent project management skills, ensuring successful project delivery.

Qualifications 

  • 10+ years of technology focused engineering experience in the architecture/engineering/construction (AEC) industry required
  • BS in Engineering, Computer Science, or related discipline
  • Comprehensive understanding of practical technologies, with expertise in one or more specific areas relevant to VHB's focus including Model Based Design, GIS, Data Analytics, AI & Machine learning, AR/VR, and Mobile Data Collection
  • Demonstrated and progressive relationships with NY/NJ-area clients such as DOT, MTA and other state and local government clients in the area preferred
  • Prior leadership experience, including strong presentation skills to communicate highly complex info to a wide range of audiences

Our best estimate of the salary range for this position located in New York City is $162,000-230,000. The final compensation will be based on a variety of factors such as individual qualifications, education, and experience.
