Our Heavy Equipment & Ag Equipment Dealership Group has an opening for a Regional Technical Instructor/Recruiter. The Regional Technical Instructor/Recruiter will be involved in the development and teaching for the Company Apprenticeship Program and provide HR with a technical resource to aid in technician recruiting and career promotion efforts. The Regional Technical Instructor/Recruiter must have a passion for identifying talent at the high school level and then developing talent of entry level Technicians through the program.
Responsibilities:
- Technical Recruiter - High school level & Technical College level
- Responsible to work with branch to engage the local high schools along with being a resource for employees to cultivate relationships with the community
- Responsible for developing new relationships with area high schools and technical schools and maintaining the existing relationships; provide schools with resources, guest teachings and trainings when possible
- Build upon high school recruiting database and ensure bi-yearly communication to engage with the group.
- Serve as the Company Ambassador to partnership programs (MTTIA instructor event, Minnesota Transportation Center of Excellence, Skills USA, FFA, etc). Work internally to ensure proper coverage at all events.
- Serve as a single point of contact for our interns to ensure job satisfaction and retention
- Attend high school and technical college recruitment events- career fairs, presentations, events/galas, and advisory board meetings.
- Manage CAT SIS program for partnering technical colleges.
- Partner with marketing and recruitment team in order to develop and distribute handouts, trinkets, and banners to help advertise the Company Apprenticeship Program, Intern, and Full time hiring needs. Communicate with recruitment team when handouts and trinkets are needed for events, schools, or drop by meetings.
- Apprenticeship Instructor
- Dedicated to build and maintain, as well as deliver and manage the curriculum to the students
- Deliver and continually develop a 12-14 month technician apprenticeship program focusing on entry level high school graduates and building them into valuable technicians
- Build engaging classroom and hands on training. Procuring training aids and resources as needed
- Manage the apprentice program by consistently accessing their safety practices, their mechanical skills, and their knowledge. Provide coaching to mentors to develop their skills
- Coach the apprentices into healthy working relationships, educating them on what career opportunities they can grow into
Qualifications:
- Associate's Degree in Diesel Technology strong preferred; High school degree/GED required
- 5+ years of related diesel experience required
- 5+ years of technical instruction/supervisory experience strongly preferred
- Strong communication, effective relationship building, and detail orientation required
- Clean driving record required
Travel:
Up to 75% travel
