Core One is seeking Regional SMEs for China, DPRK, Russia, Iran and VEO to support the program. This position requires an active TS clearance and eligibility for SCI clearance. This position is contingent upon contract award. 

 

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Perform strategic studies and assessments to analyze, evaluate, and synchronize command strategy, command policy, action plans, and strategic assessments. 
  • Conduct in-depth strategic analyses and command assessments to furnish senior leaders with the profound situational understanding necessary for making timely and critical decisions within the Special Operations Forces (SOF) Enterprise. 
  • Foster and leverage professional relationships across the Department of Defense (DoD), interagency, and intelligence community to deliver precise and distinctive regional and country-specific perspectives to senior leaders of the United States Special Operations Command (USSOCOM). 
  • Develop and disseminate products while actively participating in meetings to advise, counsel, and prepare USSOCOM's senior leaders for strategic-level engagements, facilitating well-informed decisions that best align with DoD policies and future strategies. 
  • Provide steadfast support to USSOCOM J5 planning endeavors and seamlessly integrate SOF equities into Operational Plans (OPLANs), Concept Plans (CONPLANs), and Global Campaign Plans (GCP). Supply planners with critical information to facilitate the development of concepts, operational approaches, assessments, and readiness reviews. 
  • Promote and facilitate superior decision-making through continuous coordination across the combatant command. 
  • Assist in the development of USSOCOM strategic documents by offering subject matter expertise, aiding in document preparation and coordination, conducting in-depth analysis of strategic factors, collecting and analyzing data, and participating in seminars, symposia, conferences, and war games. 
  • Research and analyze a spectrum of Department of Defense, interagency, Service, and Combatant Command policies, strategies, and concepts relevant to USSOCOM's strategy and missions. Provide strategic planning and analysis for current contingency plans, including the USSOCOM Global Campaign Plan and other relevant plans. 
  • Develop, analyze, and compare alternative USSOCOM strategies to ensure alignment with national-level strategic guidance and direction, including the National Defense Strategy (NDS), Unified Command Plan (UCP), National Military Strategy (NMS), National Strategy for Combating Terrorism (NS-CT), Contingency Planning Guidance (CPG), Guidance for Employment of the Force (GEF), and the National Military Strategic Plan for the War on Terrorism (NMSP-WOT). 
  • Provide analytical support for strategic planning meetings, briefings, seminars, and strategy war games. Offer requisite SOF subject matter expertise for events related to the future operating environment and the interoperability of Special Operations Forces (SOF). 

Requirements: 

  • Three years of strategy and regional experience, with at least one person having specialized knowledge in each of the specified regions, preferably with a focus on Special Operations Forces (SOF), gained from employment at a Department of Defense (DoD) Combatant Command, Joint Staff, or a 4-Star Command within the past decade. 
  • A minimum of three years of experience in conducting strategic and regional studies and assessments to analyze and synchronize command strategy. 
  • Completion of Senior Service College and/or possession of a master's degree, preferably in fields such as strategic studies, political science, international affairs/relations, or other related disciplines. 
  • One year of experience utilizing web-based applications, including social media platforms, and proficiency in all Microsoft Office products, including SharePoint, Word, PowerPoint, Access, and Excel. 
  • Active Top Secret (TS) security clearance and eligibility for Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) access.
