Job Overview:
Saba Healthcare is seeking a qualified and experienced Regional MDS Consultant to join our dynamic team. As a Regional MDS Consultant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with Minimum Data Set (MDS) standards and regulations across our healthcare facilities in the designated region. This position requires a deep understanding of MDS processes, excellent communication skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams.
Key Responsibilities:
MDS Compliance:
Ensure accurate and timely completion of MDS assessments in accordance with federal and state regulations.
Conduct regular audits and reviews to identify and address any compliance issues.
Stay abreast of updates to MDS guidelines and implement necessary changes within the region.
Training and Education:
Provide training and support to facility staff on MDS processes, documentation, and regulatory requirements.
Collaborate with education and training departments to develop ongoing education programs for staff.
Quality Improvement:
Collaborate with facility leadership to develop and implement quality improvement initiatives related to MDS assessments.
Analyze data and provide recommendations for improving the overall accuracy and completeness of MDS documentation.
Interdisciplinary Collaboration:
Work closely with nursing, therapy, and other interdisciplinary teams to gather accurate information for MDS assessments.
Foster a collaborative culture to ensure effective communication and coordination among team members.
Regulatory Reporting:
Prepare and submit required reports to regulatory agencies in a timely and accurate manner.
Serve as a point of contact for regulatory agencies during audits and inspections.
Documentation and Record Keeping:
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of MDS assessments and related documentation.
Ensure that all documentation meets the standards set by regulatory bodies.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Nursing or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in MDS coordination or a similar role.
Strong understanding of federal and state regulations related to MDS.
Certification in MDS completion (RAC-CT) is highly desirable.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to travel within the designated region as needed.
