PRIMARY FUNCTION: The Corp Fleet & Safety Mgr manages DOT compliance and Occupational Health safety initiatives for the Company. This role ensures Federal Motor Carriers are compliant with all regulatory and company standards and reviews DOT and OSHA regulations to ensure all locations are compliant.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS:
- Manage company vehicle fleet safety initiatives to prevent injuries as well as reduce the frequency and severity of loss due to accidents
- Conduct annual Safety inspections and audits evaluating compliance with Company policies and all regulatory guidelines and federal, state and local legal requirements; partner with internal departments to ensure compliance (i.e. legal for subrogation/ liability and Workers Compensation for injuries/Illnesses)
- Develop and maintain consistent compliance documents, revising as needed, to ensure Company adheres to the most recent standards and regulations
- Maintain company's Fleet Safety Dashboard, providing statistical analysis of Fleet safety performance including driver's performance as recorded by Dash Cam
- Train and cross-train Compliance managers, including on-boarding training, to ensure Safety staff is up to date on procedures, policy changes, regulations, etc. to enhance performance, improve skills and effectiveness in safety compliance assisting in meeting department goals and objectives
- Identify opportunities for safety improvements and manage those identified by the federal motor carriers CSA reports or safety audits; partner with appropriate personnel to correct situation and lead or participate in team to implement
- Partner with local HR, Operational, and Safety teams to provide management of security functions including the investigation of fraud and recommendations for safety initiatives including camera placement, security and access control
- Review emerging regulations, interpret, and communicate those impacting the company to appropriate leadership
- Perform additional relevant duties as assigned
SUPERVISOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- While this role has no direct reports, it is considered a Leader of People role with required competencies: Sizing up People, Delegation, Planning, Customer Focus and Conflict Management
EDUCATION and CERTIFICATIONS:
- Bachelors' degree on Safety Management or related discipline from an accredited institution; Masters' degree preferred
EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:
- Minimum five (5) years comprehensive experience in compliance program management in OSHA, DOT and Security applicable related experience; experience in a food manufacturing environment preferred
- Minimum three (3) years' experience supervising safety professionals including conflict resolution
- Ability to review, comprehend and interpret regulations including
- Ability to communicate (both written and verbal) to all levels of the organization and ability to communicate issues and resolve in an effective and efficient manner
- Self-starter who demonstrates strong initiative and sense of urgency, with the ability to work in a fast paced environment
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects while maintaining attention to detail
- Must possess a strong customer-centric attitude, high energy level and a strong sense of urgency

- Wear required protective equipment in all areas where mandatory

- Ability to work nonstandard shifts (Holidays, weekend and extended) as needed per business need
- Ability to travel to locations for auditing, inspections & investigations as needed
