Grow your career as a successful Regional Commercial VP within Hyatt Inclusive Collection, one of our 14 industry-leading brands. In this role, you will be responsible and accountable for all commercial activity within your specific region. The RVP will represent their region at the appropriate industry forums and market events. Reporting to the VP of Commercial Services, the RVP of Commercial Services partners with the Regional VP of Operations to deliver the hotel P&Ls, and interacts with senior operations and corporate leaders, across Sales, Distribution, Marketing, Direct, Social Media, Revenue Management and Market Intelligence. 

*Position can be located in the United States or Mexico.

A successful Regional Commercial VP will:

  • Develop the annual Commercial Budget (revenues, ADR, Occupancies) and Marketing/Sales plans presented to and approved by hotel owners.
  • Develop the sales and marketing plans for all origin markets, such as ALGV, USA, Canada, Europe UK, etc. working with the Corporate Sales team and interacting with all international GSAs.  
  • Prepare weekly forecasts for their hotels, adjusting their marketing and sales strategies to ensure the hotels continuously optimize performance based upon those forecasts and to achieve the annual plan.  
  • Prepare and present both Monthly and Quarterly Commercial results to the owner groups, working with the necessary stakeholders to pull together these presentations, explaining the details (market environment, competitors, pricing, market penetration, etc.).

  • Manage all Directors of Sales, and sales managers in their hotels and ideally has all – inclusive resort experience.
  • Coordinate with the corporate commercial structure to get support and focus to the hotels in need from his/her region. This includes marketing, communications, sales support from any of our global source markets, direct channels, travel agencies, groups, MICE, etc., and are additionally expected to be the communication channel from the hotels to all the Corporate Commercial structure to maintain the teams aligned and informed about any important news, changes to properties, situation or event in destinations, etc.
  • Provide input to all Commercial projections and internal team communications for new builds, take-overs and material renovations to a hotel. 
  • Ability to be a well-rounded Commercial hospitality executive with experience and capabilities across all the functions listed above.  The individual will have a proven ability to successfully commercialize a hotel, delivering on Budget by initiating new strategies & sales programs.  Demonstrated track record of successful achievement of annual budgets.  
  • Conduct negotiations for their hotels in general with major accounts; represent the company in local tourist boards and major trade events. Coordinate industry and travel agent FAM trips to their hotels. 

  • Accountable for hiring, motivating and leading the Commercial team members at each property, including distribution managers and Reservations staff.

  • Deliver the Commercial results for all hotels in the Mexican Caribbean South.
  • Develop and maintain Owner relations for the effective communications of the strategies and results for the hotels in their region.
  • Develop the strategy and annual revenue budgets for each resort and the overall region.
  • Accountable for the detailed business plan to deliver the annual budgets for each hotel in their region.
  • Ensure Hotel forecast ownership and accountability via the Directors of Sales.
  • Accountable for the activities of the DOSs, Cluster Revenue managers and Area Distribution Managers for their region.
  • Develop and implement pricing strategies and tactics for each source of business, in alignment with the corporate strategy and in conjunction with the Corporate VP of Revenue Management, Cluster Revenue Managers, and DOSs, 
  • Train the Sales Teams to create more accurate forecasts and better understand the demand.
  • Ensure accuracy in all data being reported.
  • Develop cross-departmental sales training, using opaque and inter-hotel strategies to capitalize demand in destination.
  • Review the weekly reports as provided by the Cluster Revenue Manager to investigate all risk and opportunities in the marketplace.
  • Align Vision with ALG Vacations for collaborative growth and support of charter risk being taken.
  • Ensure all systems including but not limited to: EzRMS, HBSI, Vertical Booking, Rate Gain, AMR Intranet, Contract Logix, and EchoSign are fully maintained by the hotels within the region.
  • Conduct weekly meetings with each hotel commercial team to ensure tracking to budget
  • Attend weekly and quarterly RVP meetings, as well as select industry events such as CHA, Tianguis, etc. as requested by the SVP of Sales, Marketing, Revenue Management and Distribution.
  • Lead and/or have active participation in different committees (Tourism Boards Airport Authorities’ and Hotel Associations in destination.
  • Lead the Commercial hotel opening task force for all hotel openings, including control of the full commercial check list.
  • Lead the Commercial presentations at Owner monthly and Board meetings.
  • Lead the Hotel Sales team Organization chart in conjunction with NSO Corporate standards and growth needs.
  • Possess high Leadership and communication skills with each DOS, the Area Regional Commercial Director and Corporate at PHL from a Commercial perspective, and also with Owners, VP’s of OPs, Regional Controller, GM’s and EC from an operational perspective.
  • Excellent Knowledge of market trends and data.
  • Hire Passionate Players with growth potential to become DOS, and possible future Regional Commercial Director.
  • Hire dynamic and creative employees, that are self-motivated and Proactive.
  • Develop our employees to their fullest potential and assist team members achieve their professional goals.
  • Provide full support of the HIC Mission, Vision, and Values.
  • Drive Direct, UVC, Hyatt/ World of Hyatt, and ALG Vacations.

A successful Regional VP Commercial will have:

  • Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s Degree preferred.
  • 7-10 years industry experience, with at least 5 years dedicated to sales or revenue management.
  • Fluent English language skills.
  • For roles in Spanish speaking counties, a base level of Spanish competency is required.
  • Superb oral and written communication skills.
  • Dynamic, results-oriented professional with top notch interpersonal and proven communications abilities, both written and oral.
  • Excellent knowledge in Sales, Revenue management, budgeting, inventory control, forecasting.
  • Strong analytical and mathematical skills.
  • Experience identifying and building business opportunities in different market segments.
  • Recognized as an energetic leader, with proven success in hotel sales, strong motivator & communicator, goal driven, hard worker, proactive in all type of sales initiatives, strategic thinker, and problem solver & self-motivated.
  • Experience managing multi-property model.
  • Excellent knowledge of Office, Especially Excel, and Power Point, Revenue Management Software and Reservations systems, including EzRMS, HBSi, Vertical booking, Rate Gain.
  • Highly refined Analytical skills and interpretation of data for strategic decision making.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote based model, in a fast paced environment.
  • High performer under pressure and deadlines with a high sense of urgency.
  • Excellent Team Leadership and management of multi-cultural teams.
  • Valid passport and ability to travel required. US Visa required.
  • Estimated travel Percentage 40%.

Additional Required Experience:

  • Knowledge of Hyatt/ALG/AMR corporate policies and ensure a compliance culture.
  • Knowledge of all procedures related to his/her area, department and position and execute them.
  • Participate and complete all training and development programs, both institutional and technical.
  • Participate in all integration and motivation activities, developed by the company.
  • Identify and share good practices, focused on improving financial results, guest satisfaction, employee and Owner satisfaction.
  • Requires full discretion in data, information and documentation related to his/her functions that are considered confidential. Also, ensure good keeping of all resources and work-related instruments provided by the company.
