Job description

This position is located in Sacramento, CA, and is eligible for a hybrid telework schedule for employees who can satisfactorily perform their essential work functions independently and remotely. Specific telework schedules may be discussed further during the interview process.
Under the general direction of the Natural and Working Lands Policy Advisor (CEA B), the Associate Environmental Planner (AEP) will be responsible for ensuring the Forest Biomass to Carbon Negative Biofuels Pilot Program (FBP) is implemented in accordance with State environmental, social, and economic planning objectives. The incumbent will be responsible for program design, program implementation and monitoring, environmental policy research, and strategic planning supporting the FBP, and potentially broader state wood utilization policy and programs. Perform complex environmental research and analyses in support of the regional resilience work done by the Department of Conservation's (DOC) Executive Team. Assist the Natural and Working Lands Policy Advisor in the development and implementation of environmental programs that will support Regional Climate Resilience in rural and under-capacity areas of California.

Working Conditions
A hybrid telework schedule may be available for this position under Government Code 14200 for eligible applicants residing in California. Candidates who reside outside of the State of California may be admitted to the job interview but must show proof of residence in California prior to being eligible for appointment.
