Job Purpose
The position is about creating opportunities for AkzoNobel for spend optimization through applying procurement insights and best practices. Contracts agreed should reflect these opportunities:

  • Facilitates the buying process for the assigned area, ensuring competitive pricing, right service and quality level with best terms & conditions while adhering to Akzo Nobel policies, rules and procedures.
  • Ensures that contracts reflect the correct terms & conditions and are an indisputable representation of the agreements made and adheres to the AN standard
  • Implements global and Regional Category strategies as part of their geographic responsibility under the stewardship of the relevant Global Category Manager.

Job Responsibilities
  • Deliver contribution to execution of overall category strategy and drive results in line with the strategy:
    • Responsible for Enterprise Services in North America
    • Enterprise Services category covers mainly HR Services, Professional Services, Third Party Labor and It Telecom
    • Convince regional stakeholders to comply with category strategy.
    • Agree actions with internal stakeholders to realize cost savings and/ or avoidance, drive optimization of TCO, payment term improvements, master data improvements, drive use of catalogues, spend consolidation.
    • Realize objectives in line with category strategy.
  • Source, support and facilitate the acquisition of NPR goods and services, including the execution of (electronic) RFP processes.
  • Ensure that all commercial contracts are executed in compliance to AN's policy, especially in area of legal requirement, approval & signing authority and contract life management.
  • Negotiate contracts and manage supplier performance in co-operation with the business.
  • Actively adopt the post Next Step new way of working through implementing opportunities for guided buying and support project during role out
  • Be an ambassador for process adherence throughout the whole company in line with policies & procedures.

Job Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree required, MBA or equivalent work experience desired.
  • At least 4 years in an international purchasing or commercial role
  • Fluent in English is mandatory, both written and spoken; one or more additional language might be required (depending on region)
  • Procurement accreditations (e.g. CPM/APICS) desirable
  • Savvy in relevant procurement tooling (e.g. Coupa, iCertis, Power BI)
  • Executer who can deliver category strategies, develop pricing models, and creates impact in the organization.
  • Good category expertise and sourcing/procurement experience and proven track record in Supplier and Contract Management
  • Experience in Continuous Improvement (CI) and Lean Six Sigma is a plus.

Compensation Data
The salary range for these skills is: $106,000.00 - $117,000.00. This is the range that we in good faith anticipate relying on when setting wages for this position. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This salary range may also be modified in the future.
