Job Overview:
Career coaches will serve a critical role in the success of meeting the data measures of Perkins V Act to expand opportunities for every student to explore, choose, and follow career and technical education programs of study and career pathways to earn credentials of value and meet the goals of each student in their chosen career pathway. The Career Coach will also promote evidence-based interventions to address the academic impact of lost instructional time for students disproportionately impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, by the supporting the implementation of evidence-based interventions, such as, work-based learning and apprenticeships.Career coaches will be instrumental to accelerate filling the skills gap and meeting the demands for Montana workforce.
Each Career Coach is responsible for the overall organization, management, and success of Montana Ready in an identified region of the State of Montana. Each Career Coach oversees career exploration and work-based learning (WBL) guidance to include internships and/or apprenticeships, student employment, and employer relations. Career Coaches will work with administrators, counselors, and teachers from the schools in their region. For external engagement, Career Coaches will develop and maintain partnerships with the Montana Department of Labor and Industry, private businesses, and other pertinent stakeholders to create career pathway opportunities for students, which will lead to micro-credentials and high-demand career opportunities through the MT Ready initiative.
