General Summary

The Regional Branch Manager is responsible for the overall management of retail related activities within the five bay area branch locations, overseeing sales, service, and operations, including expense controls, community leadership, employee management, development, and coaching, as well as meeting financial and compliance standards. May be responsible for developing short and long term strategic planning goals for branches.

 

Reporting Relationships

Reports to the VP & Chief Retail Officer.

 

Specific Responsibilities and Duties

  • Exercises executive and administrative control over function of the assigned offices, including participation in the budget process, implementation of area policies, and explanation of company programs and objectives. Responsible for establishing sales goals and strategies, and periodically assessing performance against set goals. Establishing service policies and standards for retail accounts in order to ensure customer satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Setting and utilizing system controls to track assets, measure the size and performance of sales portfolio, and meet compliance and record keeping standards; assess the performance and takes appropriate action to ensure that all goals and standards are met.
  • Responsible for maintaining the workflow/scheduling, employee counseling and performance problems/resolutions, preparation of the quarterly branch management review(s), determine and fulfilling training needs, interviewing and recommending new hires, promotions, demotions, and terminations. Directs and advises all of the areas Retail banking employees to effectively promote and deliver the organization’s retail products and services.
  • Promotes an effective team relationship between the Call Center, Branches, other Departments and Members by training and monitoring to the highest quality of professional and courteous service.
  • Directs the activities of Retail and Branch operations for the geographic area. Develops and coordinates strategies to assure business plan achievement for the Retail banking department.
  • Assures growth and development of consumer and middle market loans and retail deposits.
  • Must comply with all company policies and procedures, applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control.
  • Conducts regular manager meetings to ensure the training and development of staff is performed thoroughly and that branch representatives are knowledgeable in all Credit Union products and services as well as regulatory requirements that apply to their daily function.
  • Monitors managers’ oversight to ensure superior member interactions are handled properly, courteously, professionally and technically correct.
  • Prepare branch sales, service and operations reporting and review regularly with the VP, & Chief Retail Officer.
  • Participates in special projects as assigned.

 

Essential Functions, Skills and Abilities

 Includes the possession of, but is not limited to:

 Required:

  • 10 years of experience in banking, including a minimum of 5 years in a retail banking management capacity.
  • Ability to commute to all branch locations by car, sometimes on short notice.
  • Proven leadership and problem-solving experience in a customer focused sales and service environment.
  • Demonstrates empathy and ownership, striving to make another’s experience better.
  • A true team player and collaborator able to translate knowledge and experience into strong and productive relationships internally and externally and ability to coach and motivate staff to achieve their goals.

  • Demonstrated ability to assess individual and business performance, while developing and executing improvement plans to achieve significant results.
  • Technical knowledge and competence in personal computer skills working in a Windows environment, with particular knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet applications: ability to quickly learn specialized software applications. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions and percentages. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.
  • Physical abilities include but are not limited to: the ability to compare and continuously be alert, use judgment, and be patient; and the continuous need to use auditory perception, memory and reasoning ability.  While performing the essential duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
