The Callender Law Group is a boutique law firm that represents clients in education, music, and not-for-profit sectors. The attorneys at The Callender Law Group assist existing and developing entities including charter/community school boards, publishing companies, mental health agencies, and music industry professionals in all legal matters they may face, including employment and labor issues, student rights and discipline matters, school policy development, and incorporation of not-for-profits.
The firm is seeking a Regional Board Liaison to assist our staff with Board Meeting support in the Columbus, OH area. Applicant should be able to dedicate approximately 15-20 hours per week to this position.
Qualifications
- Excellence in communications, including writing, is expected.
· Exceptional people skills and professional demeanor.
- A knowledge of online research, Microsoft Office programs (including Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- A background in education is a plus, but not required.

Job Description
1. Attend 4-8 client board meetings a month in assigned area;
2. Set up each Board meeting, i.e. set up room, iPads, OWL Camera, etc.;
3. Ensure execution of required board documents, i.e., resolutions, minutes, etc., after meeting;
4. Work with Board Chair, both before and during meeting, to assure meetings proceed smoothly;
5. Take minutes/notes at assigned board meetings;
6. Clean up after each board meeting and scan and file each adopted/signed document into client file and forward to appropriate entities;
7. Attend monthly staff meetings;
8. Perform research, writing, editing, and communicating with firm staff, school leaders, client boards, sponsors, and other stakeholders as needed;
9. This is an administrative, non-lawyer position, attorneys are welcome to apply;
10. Other duties as assigned.
This position allows for remote work with travel required to assigned Board Meetings. Compensation will be based upon qualification of the candidate.T he Liaison will be reimbursed for mileage for travel to meetings outside of their county of residence.
