National Health Care Associates, provider of high-quality long-term care and short-term rehabilitation services with skilled nursing facilities in the Northeast U.S., is seeking a Regional Accounts Receivable Manager. This is a fantastic opportunity for the right candidate to join one of the premier healthcare organizations in the Northeast. The Regional A/R Manager will work out of a home office (1 week per month) and on the road at our 6 centers in Upstate NY and Vermont (3 weeks per month). Based on your residence, this position will require overnight travel.

The Regional A/R Manager is responsible for the day-to-day coordination and oversight of the facility’s A/R staff to ensure regulatory billing compliance, efficient and maximized collection of receivables, and accurate reporting of billing and cash collection activity.

Directly reports to the Corporate Director of Accounts Receivable Operations

Recommended Minimum Position Qualifications

1. Three to five years of billing and collections in a Long Term (LTC) health care environment including management or supervisory responsibilities.

2. Excellent team building, training, and leadership skills are required.

3. Must have thorough knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid and Managed Care billing and reimbursement regulations.

4. The ability to handle multiple priorities and work independently is essential.

5. Strong communication skills and ability to work well in a high-pressure environment.

6. Strong working knowledge of PCC, Excel, Word, Outlook, Electronic Claim Submission and Billing Software programs.

7. Experience in state specific reporting including credit balance reporting.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1. Review, advise and assist centers with solving collection issues. Aggressively manage collection issues by directing, consulting and coordinating with facility A/R staff, Administrators, Regional Directors and Corporate Director of Accounts Receivable Operations.

2. Ensure census, revenue and billing system generation in the software are updated accurately for facilities. Provide training when deficiencies are found.

3. Ensure Resident Funds Accounts are managed accurately and meet state requirements by monthly audit of bank reconciliation as well as continue review of practices. Provide training when deficiencies are found.

4. Review, advise and assist centers with resolving billing and revenue coding issues: monitor and advise Business Office Managers on payer and revenue adjustment accuracy and ensure authorizations are obtained per policy.

5. Review cash collection and address collection delays and shortfalls with A/R Staff and Administrator.

6. Provide training to A/R staff as needed to improve internal process efficiency.

7. Manage resolution of non-compliance with facility A/R staff by coordinating performance expectations with A/R staff and Administrator. Report issues to the Corporate Director of Accounts Receivable Operations.

8. Complete reports as directed by policy and Corporate Director of Accounts Receivable Operations.
