Job Summary:
The Regional Access Point (RAP) Assessment & Diversion Specialist aids individuals and families experiencing homelessness in Seattle and King County. Focused on shelter diversion, the specialist swiftly navigates clients through system entry, conducts assessments, and coordinates with agencies for housing solutions. The role emphasizes alternative options to emergency shelter, working to resolve housing crises promptly.
Job Responsibilities:
- Intake & Referrals: Conduct assessments, discuss diversion options, and provide referrals. Utilize the CEA Housing Triage Tool for housing placement recommendations.
- Communication: Foster clear and consistent communication with clients and CEA agencies, advocating for clients' needs and maintaining liaisons with relevant parties.
- Community Connection: Facilitate access to additional services, such as housing location and health services. Establish and maintain partnerships with community agencies.
- Record Keeping: Input data into local HMIS and other systems, maintaining accurate and confidential client records in compliance with agency standards.
- Teamwork: Participate in meetings, inter-agency groups, and training sessions to support homeless families.
Job Details:
- Payrate: $24.81/hr.
- Temporary role, with possibility for hire
- Schedule: 8:30am-5pm (Monday thru Friday)
- Hybrid work schedule. Onsite is mandatory on Wednesdays.
Education and Experience:
- Requires three years of direct social service experience or a combination of education and experience demonstrating capability.
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
- Experience in interpreting government guidelines and analyzing factual information and the ability to modify processes in response to changing contract requirements.
- Demonstrated experience using statistical databases and reporting systems. Comfort with basic Excel.
- Proven ability to organize priorities, meet deadlines, and manage peak periods of activity while maintaining accurate and confidential related files.
- Ability and willingness to work individually in a self-directed manner and as part of a team.
- Willingness and ability to work with people from a variety of racial, cultural and economic backgrounds, with various lifestyles, sexual orientations, and of all ages.
- Interest in working in an environment that provides housing and related services to single adults, families, children and youth.
- Access to reliable transportation, validdriver's license,vehicle insurance that meets Washington State’s minimum guidelines and the ability and willingness to travel throughout King County.
