Regenstein Pacific Collections Internship - Registration

The Field Museum is pleased to announce one 2024 Regenstein Pacific Collections Internship in Registration. This internship aims at providing the intern with an experience that should be educational, and while their work product will benefit the Museum; their work should be designed to benefit them more so than the Museum. This is a paid internship for full-time (35 hours per week) for 12 weeks. Start and end dates are negotiable, but the internship must take place within the period April 1 to Sept 30. Salary of $16.50-$17 per hour depending on experience.

The intern will work under the supervision of Lauren Hancock (Head Registrar) and focus on completing the cataloging process for recently acquired collections from Samoa, American Samoa, Hawaii, Papua New Guinea, and/or other areas of the Pacific region.

Qualifications

The internship will be awarded to advanced undergraduates, recent graduates (six months or less), or graduate students currently studying anthropology, art history, museum studies, or a related field who have demonstrated interest in working in museums. Previous experience with museum collections and digital photography would be a plus, but is not essential.
