Major Functions:
- Responsible for maintenance, up-keep, and contracts for MDI Management properties. Performs skilled maintenance, trouble shooting, and repair of Ammonia refrigeration system, Freon refrigeration systems, and warehouse powered doors/door curtains in accordance with SOPs (standard operating procedures), internal requirements, manufacturer's specifications, and safety policies.
Accountabilities:
- Certified to operate equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, scissor lifts, etc.
- Understands Safety principles in areas such as job site safety, personal protective equipment (PPE), welding/hot work permits, electrical safety, handling of pressurized gases, etc.
- Proficient in using basic math and measuring devices.
- Proficient in reading blueprints and schematics.
- General understanding of the theory of electricity.
- Performs preventative maintenance on the Ammonia refrigeration system and maintains precise documentation.
- Assists higher level technicians with maintaining, trouble shooting, and repairing the Ammonia refrigeration system.
- Possesses the ability to learn how to operate, monitor, and analyze the Ammonia refrigeration control system.
- Assists higher level technicians in troubleshooting and repairing warehouse powered doors/door curtains.
- Assists higher level technicians in troubleshooting and repairing freon refrigeration systems such as ice machines, coolers, etc.
- Recommends purchases of maintenance tools, equipment and supplies as required.
- Assists engineers in developing methods and procedures to improve facility efficiency and workflow.
- Attend and successfully complete any training as assigned by management.
- Utilize company work order system for assignments and track time.
- May be required to perform other tasks as assigned by supervision.
Desirable Qualifications:
- High School diploma or general education degree (GED); 3 to 5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 2-year certificate from college or technical school.
- Ammonia Operator I certificate.
- Proficient computer skills
- Familiar with Microsoft Office (word, excel, power point, etc.)
- Ability to manage multiple priorities.
- High standard of integrity and professionalism.
- Must have own hand tools to perform job duties.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license.
Dimensions:
- Must be able bend, twist, and lift to 70 lbs. and pass lifting test
Direction/Responsibility:
- Work independently and unsupervised, in a productive manner, under the general direction of the Maintenance Manager.
- Work with Alex Lee corporate officers in maintenance and upkeep of MDI Management property.
