Job description

Role and Responsibilities

The primary responsibility of this position is to maintain proper operation, maintenance, and repair of the equipment and machinery related to the refrigeration systems.

Specific duties include:

•         Proper operation, repair and maintenance of the 3,700 hp ammonia refrigeration system.

•         Train new refrigeration employees.

•         Other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements

•         While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. 

•         The employee is frequently required to sit and use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls. 

•         The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms.

•         The employee must frequently lift up to 50 pounds.

•         Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

•         3 to 5 years of verifiable ammonia refrigeration experience.

•         Knowledge in the maintenance and repair of 3,700 hp ammonia refrigeration system.

•         Understanding all aspects of PSM and RMP programs.

•         Knowledge of electrical control circuits, purgers, plate and frame heat exchangers, blast cell and plate freezers, brine tanks, box chillers, ice machines, and ice delivery systems.

•         RETA CIRO license strongly preferred.

•         Must possess the ability to stay alert and aware within their surroundings.

•         Knowledge of creating and maintaining a safe work environment.

•         Ability to identify, correct, and report safety hazards.

•         Pleasant and professional manner in dealing with co-workers, supervisors, employees, outside agencies, and vendors.

•         Prompt arrival and attendance. 

•         Ability to communicate in the English language, comprehending, speaking, reading and writing in English.

•         Ability to function as part of the team, with co-workers, supervisor, and other departments.

•         Must be willing to work and live in a multi-cultural team environment.

•         Personal tools are required.
